What if we were more empathetic in our communities?

Self-hatred in the African-American community is something that tends to be pushed to the side. As long as it can be remembered, colorism has been a problem that has affected us. People of a lighter skin complexion have been deemed more desirable while people of a darker skin complexion often receive slander and negative remarks for their tone. I have seen this happen with my own eyes to those who I consider friends. I've seen how many more opportunities those who are lighter get than those who are darker.

I want to create a discussion and get more people involved in order to educate the ignorant of what colorism is and how it affects the people in our community.
